Trisandhya Japam

In our home in Kerala, we used to light the candle in the evening at about 6pm and pray the Trisandhya Japam. This is a tradition in India, mostly in Hindu homes where they will light not a candle but a lamp using oil and a small thread. If you take a stroll at this time you could see a divine light coming from each home. But in christian homes like ours we light a candle and say the prayer called "Trisandhya Japam". Today I would like to share it with my malayalee readers(if any) ;)

This prayer is also known as "God's Angel Declared" in English or "Karthaavinte Maalagha" in Malayalam. It is a very small prayer and can be followed easily everyday without fail. I am sure it will bring lots of blessings to your home.

കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ മാലാഖ മര്‍ത്തമറിയമിനോട്‌ വച്ചനിച്ചു;
പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാല്‍ അവള്‍ ഗര്‍ഭിണി ആയി.

ഇതാ ഞാന്‍ കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ദാസി, നിന്റെ വചനം പോലെ എനിക്ക് ഭവിക്കട്ടെ.

സര്‍വ്വേശ്വര കര്‍ത്താവേ, മാലാഖ അറിയിച്ച പ്രകാരം നിന്റെ പുത്രന്‍ യേശുമിശിഹ മനുഷ്യനായി എന്നത് അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഞങ്ങള്‍ അവന്റെ പീഡാനുഭാവത്താലും കുരിശിനാലും ഉയര്‍പ്പിന്റെ മഹിമയെ പ്രാപിക്കുവാന്‍ അനുഗ്രഹം ചെയ്യണം എന്ന് നിന്നോട് ഞാന്‍ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. വിശേഷിച്ച്, മരിച്ച വിശ്വാസികളുടെ ആത്മാക്കള്‍ നിന്റെ കാരുണ്യത്താല്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍ പ്രവേശിക്കുവാന്‍ ഇടയാകട്ടെ. ഈ യാചനകള്‍ ഒക്കെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ യേശുമിശിഹാ മുഖേന ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നീ നല്‍കണമെ, ആമ്മീന്‍.
